Summer Solstice update
The latest released build is B686 dated June 21, 2014 ... this pre-release will be the last, the next will be the full release which will not have an expiry date. In 686 we have changed the expanded map to a separate sizable window and fixed a few issues with the expanded combat message displays. Many of you are running builds that will expire June 30 ... please update ASAP by d/l B686.zip from your MyDemise page ...

APRIL UPDATE & 24 HOUR SALE !!!
We're now at build B683 which has been switched from a test build to a full release. Coming up on April 11, 2014 a '24 Hour Sale' - this will run on Pacific Daylight Time and Sale links will be on our main page for that period only! Ascension, Devil Whiskey and Mordor downloads will all be 'on sale'.

Getting ever closer to final release !!!
With the current build B670 (dated 27 December 2013) we have several new options available which help game play! An expanded combat message window may be selected which has a large buffer and a scrollbar (so that the whole series of combat messages may be reviewed after a skirmish); spell casting has had a 'Party' option added for some spell classes (Heal, Flight, Protection and Resist) to save time when buffing up before delving; issues with thieving skills (deeper trapped chests could never or rarely be disarmed) have been addressed and the music volume control is now functional as the method of playing has been revised ...

Update August 2013
Current build is B657, we are in the closing stages of a Monster Competition. Many of Demise: Ascension's monsters will talk back at the player but there are a number who could be talking back and who remain stubbornly silent! Before we get to the business of the 'final release' we'd like to increase the overall verbosity in the game
So ten free licenses are up for grabs and all you have to do is submit a monster and a short sentence or two that you'd like to have it say to players ... before midnight on August 31, 2013 and send by email to decklin @ pacbell.net subject "Monster Competition"!

February 2013 - Win8 update
Win8 is proving to be vexing, to say the least. We have a test build B643 which runs well on Win8 Pro in Direct3D in windowed mode, and runs using SGI OpenGL Software renderer in full screen mode. Unfortunately, the new Win8 OS will not let games mix Direct3D and GUI graphics in full screen - at the same time - so the dungeon is blanked !!!
A compatibility directive that is claimed to switch games 'like this' to a maximum windowed mode in which it should run appears not to work.
We are continuing to work on the issue ... so stay tuned.
