Originally we planned to release 1.04 as an 'intermediate' step before Ascension but now we are going to go 'straight' into Ascension ( version 1.05 ) - so there will be only one 'step' to make for everyone who wishes to upgrade.
The character importer may be used to bring characters into Ascension from the demo, from an Artifact Entertainment 'gold' game that has been patched to r353, or of course from a Pharaoh Productions v1.03 game. The issues relating to item differences will be taken into consideration. Companions will be brought in also.
The specific details relating to Ascension differences will be appearing in the forums, but basically the details remaining to be finalised and tested are related to code changes needed for the new storyline and additional quests.
The game build and major bug fixing is all complete, both MP and SP are stable, the new geography is finished. We have decided that the 'formal' public release will now take place AFTER the registered members have had the opportunity to upgrade. We hope to get that process under way before the end of March '08 and the likely time-frame for public release shifts to some time in April as a result. |
